Lancôme is a brand I haven’t tried many makeup products from, but the few items I have tried, I have liked. This foundation is one I’d heard quite a few people talk about and recommend it to me, so I decided to get a sample to try out and see what I thought of it. It’s €39 for 30ml, so it is pricey.
This foundation claims to have a 24hr wear time, full coverage, be transfer proof and smudge free. It has everything I like a foundation to have.
The full size foundation comes in a glass bottle with a plastic pump and lid and obviously the samples are in plastic tubes and they are 15ml, which is generous as most samples are a lot smaller.
I wasn’t sure which I would be so the Lancôme assistant kindly gave me both to try. She gave me 010 Beige Porcelaine and 02 Lys Rosé. Beige Porcelaine is definitely a better match for me. Lys Rosé is about a shade too dark and slightly too pink.
This foundation provides great coverage, I wouldn’t say full, but more between medium and full coverage, it has a beautiful radiant finish.
It has a strong perfumed scent which doesn’t dissipate after application. I can get the scent of this all day long. It’s not a bad scent, but it is noticeable.
On my dry skin this foundation sets to a powder-like finish, although, I do need to set it with powder otherwise it will transfer, because of this, I find I need to use a setting spray to take away the powdered or dry look this foundation can give my skin.
I can get a good twelve hours of wear from this before it starts to separate on my skin. I find it starts to separate around my nose and chin. It doesn’t look shiny or heavy, it just breaks up. I don’t find I need to blot or powder during the day with this.
I really like it, but the fact the scent lingers puts me off. I’m just not a fan of products that are so strongly scented that the scent lingers around. I would prefer if the scent wore off a bit more or wore away completely. I don’t mind a light or delicate scent, but anything more is a bit much for me.
