I got up this Tarte Foundation Brush over a year ago and it’s one that I have barely used. If I’m honest, Tarte is a brand that I really haven’t had much luck with, regardless of the product I’ve tried. Everyone seems to love them, but for me, their products just don’t seem to work very well, or at all.
Beauty blenders are my most favourite tool for applying foundation. However, there are some foundations I use that look better applied with a brush.
Foundation brushes are one type of brush that I am picky with because I dislike how some leave brush strokes and make your foundation look patchy and uneven.
I love my Bobbi Brown Face Blender brush, it’s my favourite foundation brush. I have other foundation brushes that I really like too so when I get a new brush I have high expectations – especially when it’s an expensive brush.
This brush is very dense, for me, it’s too dense. It just smears my foundation around my face without actually buffing or blending it in, so I still need to use another brush or my beauty blender to fully blend out my foundation. The bristles feel slippery and plastic.
This Tarte Foundation Brush for me is a big fail, especially considering it’s price.
What I do like about this brush is the size of the head and handle, and also the spatula. It has a nice big head which I really like, I just wish it performed better. Although a spatula isn’t something I’d often use, it is handy to have.
This is €33, which is pretty expensive considering the quality and performance of it. That’s on par with MAC, Bobbi Brown and Inglot etc. however the quality is definitely not there. If you do want to purchase this brush, you can do so from Tarte’s website.
