I got this Neutrogena Hydrating Boost Hydrating Tint last summer and only recently I realised that I haven’t reviewed it in full for you, so today, I am going to share my thoughts on it with you.
As the name suggests it is a hydrating tint. Not a foundation, not a BB or CC cream, a tint. It is exceptionally lightweight on my skin. I can’t feel it at all. When I wear this, it doesn’t feel like I am wearing anything bar my skincare. It gives my skin a very light coverage so my own skin is still visible and not masked over.
Despite having a matte finish, it doesn’t look heavy, cakey or dry and it doesn’t emphasise pores, texture or dryness, it also doesn’t oxidise. It looks really lovely, radiant and healthy. I use the shade Classic Ivory and it’s a great match for me.
It comes in a glass bottle with a doe foot applicator. The applicator is a nice size and applies the right amount of product so I don’t need to dip it back into the bottle constantly to get more product.

It blends out really nicely and quickly. My personal preference for blending it is Zoeva’s 104 Buffer Brush, I have found that a flat headed brush like that gives the most flawless application. I’ve found that a beauty blender soaks up a lot of product so a brush is the best way to apply it.
It does build up to medium coverage and although it builds up nicely and without looking heavy or cakey, it does settle into frown and smile lines.
It is very long wearing too. I have worn this for 12-14 hours and it has worn well without breaking down or wearing off. Obviously, there is some wear, but not a lot and nothing that a quick blot wouldn’t fix.
I almost always set my foundation as I hate my base to feel tacky, but I don’t need to set this and any products I apply over it, be it cream or powder apply just as they would without moving or disturbing my base.

I really love this and it’s something I will definitely repurchase. It has become one of my go-to bases, with the other light base being my Smashbox BB Water.
It is perfect for the summer too, especially if the weather is as hot as it was last year. Paired with Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Flawless Filter it looks beautiful. Glowing, healthy, radiant skin without a mask like effect.
If you like a light coverage base this tint is definitely one to check out.
Thank you for reading, until next time, take care xx
