I picked up this Catrice Cosmetics Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer around two weeks ago and I have been using it since. It comes in two shades and I got the shade ‘010 As Strong As You Are’.
This is a really lovely lightweight base that has a delicate creamy formula. It has a nicely sized doe-foot applicator and because it comes in a tube it’s great for travel as it’s small, compact and light.
There are only two shades available so if you have a deep skin tone this will probably be too light for you. In the above photo you can see that it quite light in colour – it barely shows up on my skin and I am quite pale.
- blends easily
- once set it doesn’t budge
- nice colour and applicator
- great for travel
- Creases quickly so needs to be set almost immediately
- doesn’t cover discolouration/veining etc on lids
- only two shades available
- hard to find
It doesn’t offer much coverage and so it doesn’t cover/conceal discolouration or veining on my eyelids. It is best applied over your foundation/concealer if you take them over your lids.
It does crease quickly so it needs to be set immediately, but once it is set, it doesn’t budge or crease. If it does crease before you set it, you can blend it again to remove the creasing and then set it. I have done this and haven’t noticed it to move around or come off.
I haven’t found my eyeshadows to appear more pigmented, apply or blend any differently over this than I do with any other eye base. If you are on the lookout for an affordable eye base then this may be worth checking out. It’s €3.95 so won’t break the bank.
I like it and the pros outweight the cons for sure, but (there’s always a but, isn’t there!? 😂) I don’t love it and probably wouldn’t repurchase it. It’s nice, but it doesn’t blow me away and it isn’t really a stand-out product for me. It’s nice and it’s affordable, but I have others I prefer and will stick with those for that reason.
Have you tried this? What are your thoughts on it? Let me know!
Thank you for reading, until next time, take care xx
