I posted about Catrice Cosmetics Spring Summer 2019 collection I mentioned and since that post, I have been using all of the products, bar the nail polishes, consistently and today I’m going to share my thoughts on them with you. If you would like to read that post, you can find it here.
I had intended on posting this post a little while ago, but I really wanted to put the products to the test so I could be more thorough in my review for you. I’ll do it in order as I would apply the products.
One Minute Face Perfector & HD Active Performance Primer

The HD Active Performance Primer is my favourite of the two. This is such a gorgeous product to use. It is extremely on the skin and gives a velvety finish. It reminds me a lot of the Veil Mineral Primer by Hourglass, but for a fraction of the price. The Hourglass Primer gives a similar feeling and finish to my skin and my foundation applies beautifully over it, this primer by Catrice does something similar.
I love that this has SPF30, even though I wear SPF daily, I do appreciate when my makeup/skincare has SPF included too. The more the better. This is one I will absolutely be repurchasing, it makes a nice alternative for daily use to my Hourglass one.
The One Minute Face Perfector I’m not overly fond of, but only because of my skin type. This is a mattifying product, and it is extremely mattifying. If you have oily skin this would be right up your street I think.

Personally, it does not suit my dry skin at all. It makes any base product applied over it looks heavy, cakey and as if I’ve applied far too much. It causes my base product(s) to gather around my nostrils and over my top lip and it looks awful to be honest.

I’m also not keen that it only comes in one shade. Now, it is supposed to adapt to your skin tone, personally, even though it does lighten up in colour, it is still about a shade too dark for me. If I had tan on my face and body, this would probably work for me.
It would be great for holidays or warm weather if you really only wanted your skin perfected, but didn’t want to wear a foundation. It gives an extremely light coverage, which would be perfect for hols. I will use up the one that I have, but it’s not something I would repurchase only because of how mattifying it is.
One Drop Coverage Weightless Concealer
The One Drop Coverage Weightless Concealer is fabulous. It is exactly as the name suggests it is — One Drop Weightless. It gives serious, serious coverage so only a tiny bit is needed. Use too much and it will crease, cake and look unsightly.

It is incredibly creamy, it’s quite possibly one of the creamiest concealers I’ve ever used. It applies and blends like a dream and creases minimally, however when I set it, it doesn’t crease at all. It doesn’t fade throughout the day, oxidise or look uneven or patchy.
I’ve used this to prime my eyelids before applying shadow and it’s worked well, no issues with shadows creasing, fading, wearing more than normal etc. I do set it though, but I always set my eyes before applying shadow, unless I need a tacky base.

I really like the dropper applicator too. Quick, easy and mess-free. I can dispense the right amount ensuring no waste.
I’ve used it as a ‘foundation’ too, and again, experienced no issues with it. All my products applied and blended over it easily and performed and wore as normal. I did need to use quite a bit of product to get light-medium coverage from it, so it’s not one I would regularly wear as a foundation, only because I would fly through it.
My only gripe is that it comes in eight shades. I use the shade ‘003 Porelain’, and it’s just about light enough. I could probably do with a lighter shade, but I can make this one work for me. I was sent shade ‘010 Light Beige’, but it was a tad too dark for me, so I thought Porelain would be a better match.
Aside from the colour range, this is fabulous and one that’s become a firm favourite of mine. I’ll definitely repurchase this.
Glow Illusion Loose Powder & Golden Dust Highlighter Drops
This is an absolutely gorgeous loose powder. It’s very fine and light and doesn’t give a heavy or cakey appearance to my base. It gives a gorgeous soft, but radiance finish to my base and makes me look healthy.

A lot of people seem to have issues with the packaging and getting product out, but personally I have not experienced that at all. Mine works perfectly, but if you are thinking of getting this, it is definitely something to be aware of.

This I would definitely repurchase, I have quite a few powders work through at the moment, but when I’m finished them I may well pick this up again.
The Golden Dust Highlighter Drops are beautiful. They are a creamy formula that turns to powder when applied on the skin. I absolutley adore these. They give such a gorgeous golden sheen to the skin, but they’re not glittery, shimmery or blinding.

I particularly love to use these as a base and apply another powder highlighter over them, to really intensify it. However for daywear, these on their own are perfect. They apply beautifully with fingers, a brush, beauty blender and don’t disturb any products underneath.

I’ve used these under my base products and they give a gorgeous glow to my skin, almost like the Becca Backlight Priming Filter. I love to use these on my brow bone as well, they really catch the light and look beautiful.
Glam & Doll Boost Lash Growth Volume Mascara & It’s Easy Tattoo Liner
The Glam & Doll Boost Lash Growth Volume Mascara reminds me a lot of MAC’s Upward Lash and Outrageous Curl by Sephora Collection. All three mascaras have extremely similar wands, formulas, pigmentation and longevity.

Upward Lash is €25.50 and Outrageous Curl is $12 in the US and on Sephora.fr it is €6.99 for a mini and €14.99 for a full size, so this Catrice one is nice alternative for both and is easier to get here in Ireland.

It separates and defines my lashes and gives a nice amount of volume. It claims to activate lash growth, personally, I haven’t noticed any difference in the length or volume of my natural lashes, but my lashes are pretty long and voluminous anyway.
The eyeliner is amazing. It’s one of the best eyeliners I have ever used. I’ve worn it alongside my Tarte, Soap & Glory and Marc Jacobs felt tip liners and it’s beaten them all hands down. It wipes the floor with them frankly.

It has a lovely felt tip that just glides across my lids, without pulling, dragging, scratching or skipping and because of the length and thickness of the felt tip, it is incredibly easy to create a nice, defined wing.

It is very pigmented and takes no building up, you get full opacity in one swipe. It doesn’t leak, smudge, flake, fade or crack throughout the day.

The best part? It’s only €3.70. That’s right, €3.70 for an eyeliner that does all that. I already have a couple of back-ups for fear it will be discontinued.
Power Pluming Gel Lipstick & Generation Plump & Shine Lip Gloss
The Power Plumping Gel Lipsticks are gorgeous, super pigmented and extremely comfortable to wear. They are not as long lasting as a matte lipstick, but they do last a good 3-3.5 hours on me before I need to reapply, that said, I do wear a lipliner underneath, which helps with the longevity.

Without a lipliner I would get 2-2.5 hours before I’d need to reapply, but even then, there is a gorgeous stain on my lips and the colour is not patchy or uneven.
When I wore the shade ‘The Future Is Femme’ (red) I got quite a few compliments on my lip colour and a few asked what it was, that rarely happens for me, so it’s a good sign.
The shade ‘My Lips, My Rules’ (nude) is my least favourite, only because it’s very sheer and takes a number of coats before I can get any decent colour payoff. It’s also quite a light colour, possibly a little too light for me. That said, it’s a gorgeous formula and finish and if sheer lipsticks are your thing, this is a nice one.

The Generation Plump & Shine Lip Gloss in ‘070 Nude Sapphire’ has become my go-to gloss. It is beautiful. It’s not sticky or gloopy, my hair doesn’t get stuck or caught in it.

It gives a gorgeous shine to my lips and makes them look juicy. I have a back-up of this too and will be getting more for fear it will be discontinued. It’s a really beautiful gloss and goes with pretty much every nude lipstick and lipliner.
Overall, I really, really like this collection and there are definitely some other bits I would like to pick up from it. In particular the Carribean Bronzer, Generation Matt Comfortable Liquid Lipstick, Prêt-à-Volume False Lashes Mascara & Liquid Camouflage Under Eye Primer. I haven’t gotten around to picking them up yet, but I will soon and I will review them in due course.
Have you tried anything from this collection?
Thank you for reading, until next time, take care xx
