Hi guys,
I’m back with another post for you this week, this time, it’s my picks from the current Sephora sale for Rouge and VIB Members. Sephora started their sale for Rouge members on August 19th and for VIB members on August 20th. The sale runs until August 27th for both membership types. VIB Members can avail of 15% off and Rouge Members can avail of 20% off with the code SUMMERSAVE.
I have quite a few American followers so I thought I would do this post on my picks from the sale. If there is anything you would recommend, let me know in the comments, I would love to your recommendations.
Makeup
Charlotte Tilbury Bar Of Gold Highlighting Palette — This is a seriously stunning highlight trio, that is worth every cent and more. It’s very expensive, but oh so worth it, especially if love a bit of luxury. This was first released last Christmas and I had eyed it up, but in the end, decided against it, however I was recently gifted it and I have fallen head over heels.
I love to mix all three shades and apply with a fan brush for a light dusting, and for a more blinding highlighter, I use my Blank Canvas F15 to apply it. The golden shade makes a beautiful eyeshadow too. The colours, formula, texture and performance of these highlighters is something else.
They are absolutely beautiful, and oh so smooth. They are very alike Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Amrezy Highlighter in formula and texture, but they are even smoother than that one is. You can purchase this here.
Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter — This product is a staple one for me. I can’t be without it. It gives the most beautiful dewiness to my skin, but it doesn’t look greasy or oily, just glowy. It’s absolutely stunning and a must-have, especially if you have lacklustre skin.
I use this under, over and mixed in with foundation and it works well all three ways and looks beautiful all three ways. It does come in a thick glass bottle that is quite hefty in weight, so it’s not ideal for travelling, but I can ignore that. It’s pricey, but you only need a little per application so it should last a while. You can purchase this here.
Bite Beauty ‘The Lip Pencil’ — These lip pencils by Bite Beauty are gorgeous. They are super pigmented and creamy to use as well as longwearing and non-drying. I have a few shades and have not experienced any issues with any of them. They all apply and perform the same, even the deep shades. They are only $9 before discount too, so well worth picking up one or two. You can purchase these here.
Huda Beauty Desert Dusk & Rose Gold Remastered Eyeshadow Palettes — Both of these palettes are currently reduced to $42 (each), which is a reduction of $23 and you get discount on top of that, they work out at great value. I have the original Rose Gold and love it. I don’t have any other palettes by Huda, but I have seen them in stores and they seem really lovely and good quality too.
If you were thinking of getting either of them, now would be time given the reductions on them. You can purchase the Desert Dusk palette here and the Rose Gold Remastered palette here. There is also ‘The New Nude’ palette, however it is not discount and is priced at $65 (before discount). You can purchase The New Nude palette here.
Up next are a quite a few items by Marc Jacobs, one of my favourite beauty brands. I tried their makeup last year for the first time, and have been hooked ever since. Their products are gorgeous and quite luxurious, too. Most of their products that I love are from their Coconut Collection (reviewed here) and are still available.
Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter — If you know me, you’ll know that I love a good liquid illuminator, and this one is a beauty. It looks scary in the bottle, but once applied and blended out, it is a lot less scary and much lighter in colour. It has a gorgeous gel formula and texture, but it’s not sticky or tacky and my foundation applies nicely over it.
I don’t have issues with my foundation grabbing or clinging to certain areas and looking patchy and uneven. I love the glow it gives my skin. It’s not glittery or shimmery, just glowy. You can purchase the illuminator here.
Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Fantascene — This is a fabulous eye palette with a gorgeous selection of shades. Each shade is very finely milled and super pigmented, so a light hand is needed. Each of the shadows apply and blend beautifully. They are very longwearing both with and without a primer, but with a primer they are even more pigmented. You can purchase the eye palette here.
Finish-Line Perfecting Coconut Setting Powder — This is a gorgeous setting powder that gives a soft velvety feel to my skin. It gives my skin a very soft matte finish, but doesn’t look heavy, dry or cakey and it doesn’t cling to or emphasise dry patches either. You can purchase the powder here.
Highliner and Fineliner Eye Pencils — These are my favourite eye pencils. They are the ONLY eye pencils that I can use to line my eyes, that I know won’t smudge or budge and won’t give me ‘panda eyes’ by the end of the day.
They’re creamy, pigmented and don’t scratch, drag or pull on my eyes when applying. They set quickly and don’t move until you take them off that night. They come in a range of shades too, and can be purchased here and here.
Le Marc Lip Crème Lipstick — These lipsticks are some of the nicest and frankly best creamy lipsticks there are. They are intensely pigmented and when wearing off it leaves a beautiful stain on my lips that is strong in colour. It’s so incredibly creamy and applies so beautifully and easily.
It just glides on, it doesn’t scratch, drag or pull on my lips and it doesn’t smudge, feather or bleed. I can apply and wear this both with and without a lipliner. I have the shade ‘Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang’, which is a beautiful berry pink colour, however there are a large range of shades available. You can purchase these here.
O!Mega Coconut Bronzer — This is a beautiful bronzer — one of the nicest I have ever used. It is beautiful on pale skin. It gives a gorgeous warmth to my skin and it’s not too dark and it is not orange or muddy, either. You can purchase the Coconut bronzer here. There are two shades and I have ‘104 Tan-Tastic!’. All of the products from the Coconut Collection have a gorgeous delicate scent of coconut that is not strong or overpowering and dissipates after application.
See-quins Glam Glitter Eyeshadow — These are new to me, but I absolutely love them. They are absolutely beautiful and have a gorgeous formula and texture. They do contain glitter, but they are not scratchy and fall out from them is minimal.
I own three shades: Copperazzi, Gleam Girl and Topaz Flash. Copperazzi is my favourite of the three, I just love how vibrant it is. It’s a beautiful shade for the upcoming Autumn season. They are super pigmented and very long wearing. I feel that they do adhere better over a tacky base, however, even without a tacky base, they still apply perfectly and are long wearing. You can purchase these here.
Natasha Denona Sunset & Lila Eyeshadow Palettes — Both of these palettes are also reduced to $99 USD each (before discount) and they also work out at great value with the discount on top of the reduced prices. I haven’t tried either of these, but they always get rave reviews (especially the Sunset palette), so if you were hoping to try them, now would be a good time to pick them up while they’re discounted. You can purchase The Sunset Palette here and the Lila palette here.
Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist — This face mist is one that has been doing the rounds for quite a while, and I’d been dying to try it to see what all the hype was about. When I first started using it, I was a bit “meh” about it, I won’t lie, I really couldn’t see what the hype was about, however, after using it for a good few months now, I can finally see what the hype is about!
This is fabulous. It gives the most gorgeous dewiness to my skin; no other setting spray or facial mist gives my skin the same level of dewiness that this does. It’s beautiful. Is it worth $48? I don’t know to be honest. I mean, I love it, but $48 for a 40ml spray is a heck of a lot. With discount I would say that it is worth it, but it’s still quite expensive.
I definitely recommend it and if you have dry skin and struggle to get a glow or dewiness, then it is worth checking out. There is a smaller size (12ml) that is $20 which may be better to start with and see if you like it. You can purchase both sizes here.
Tatcha Skincare for Makeup Lovers Set — If you’ve been wanting to try the aforementioned Luminous Dewy Skin Mist and other products by Tatcha, this set is a great way to try the mist, their Silk Canvas Primer and their Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil.
This set contains a 40ml (full size) mist, 7g primer and 25ml Cleansing Oil, so it’s a great set to try all three and at full price it is $59, so it’s even better value with the current discount. It’s still expensive, but much better than paying $40+ for the mist alone.
Velvet Noir mascara — This mascara is a firm favourite of mine. It ticks every box that I want a mascara to tick (and there are many). I expect a lot from mascara and this mascara delivers on every single thing, and then some. It’s a gorgeous, superbly black mascara with a gorgeous formula and wand that coats each and every lash, but without giving me the ‘spider lash effect’.
This gives my lashes SO MUCH VOLUME, which for me is a must. Volume is what I want most from my mascara and this one doesn’t disappoint. I just adore how it makes my lashes look. Once it’s on, it’s on. It doesn’t flake, smudge or budge, it’s not the easiest to remove, I usually prefer to use an oil-based cleanser to minimise rubbing of my eye area, but a milk cleanser will remove it too. You can purchase this here and I have a full review of this mascara here.
Also from Marc Jacobs is this cute little mini duo containing a powder and primer from the Coconut range for $25 here. This would be a great little set to pick up if you wanted to try the powder, but didn’t want to splash out full price without trying it. Even though it is a mini, I’d imagine it would last a while as you don’t need a lot of powder per application.
There is another gorgeous set here called the ‘Glow Maintenance Set’, which contains mini O! Mega Bronzer, mini Velvet Noir mascara, mini Dew Drop Coconut Gel Highlighter in the shade ‘Dew You?’ and a full size Enamored Hydrating Lip Gloss Stick in the shade ‘One Mauve Time’. There are also two other sets here and here, one containing a mini Velvet Noir mascara and Highliner in Blacquer and another containg a mini Velvet Noir mascara and a mini Le Marc Lip Crème in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Both sets are $20 at full price.
Sephora Favorites Sets — These are great sets, especially if there are a few products/brands you want to try but without splurging on full sized products, these sets are a great way of being able to try various brands and products. Some of them contain full size products, too. I got one last year full of nude/neutral lip products, which included a full-sized Huda Beauty matte liquid lipstick in the shade Trendsetter.
I paid around $19 for the set, and the Huda lipstick alone costs $20. Although the other products were minis’, they weren’t actually all that small, I would describe them as more travel size rather thab mini. There are a whole variety of these sets, ranging from lips, to eyes, to perfume, and so much more. You can find them here and they range in price from $18 to $75. With some of the fragrance sets you also get a voucher to get a full size fragrance at no extra charge.
Skincare
Amorepacific Botanical Radiance Oil — This is a gorgeous oil to use, especially on dry skin. Despite being an oil, it’s not greasy and won’t slip and slide around your face. It feels very light, almost serum like on the skin and absorbs relatively quickly, too. It’s beautiful under and mixed in with foundation (especially the original matte Fenty foundation) to give a gorgeous, but not greasy looking, glow.
It doesn’t cause any issues with my foundation breaking down, gathering or appearing shiny, it just adds a healthy glow to my skin. When I used this at night, after all my other skincare products, it applied beautifully and again, absorbed quickly. My skin looked and felt radiant and glowy the following morning. I didn’t experience any issues with transfer to my bedding or staining etc.
I didn’t think this actually did much for my skin, but now that I am finished both my mini’s, I can that my skin is not as bright or radiant as it was when I used this, so it’s one that I will definitely repurchase. It’s pricey at $105, but it’s worth it. Good skincare is always worth it in my opinion! You can purchase this here.
Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask — This is a beautiful product to use, especially if you suffer from dry lips. Lip balms are my most use skincare product – I go through multiple in the year and I expect each balm to be hydrating and/or moisturising for my dry (and sometimes chapped) lips. This balm is without a doubt one of the nicest I think I have ever used – and I’ve used a lot of balms and this particular product is a stand-out for me.
It’s thick, but not gloopy, sticky or uncomfortable. It lasts for a long time before fully absorbing and my lips feel moisturised when it is absorbed. You don’t need a lot of product per application either, so it should last a while. I can apply it over lipsticks and it doesn’t cause them to break down or wear away quicker than they would usually, it also doesn’t cause any issues with them feathering, bleeding or smudging. It has a gorgeous scent and formula, too. You can purchase them here.
Clinique Moisture Surge Deluxe Set — This is a great set if your skin is dry. I haven’t tried these products myself, however I often see positive reviews about them and they are quite popular, so if they are something you use or wanted to try this set works out at great value.
You get a 50ml (full size) moisturiser, 30ml (deluxe travel size) overnight facemask and an 8.5ml Fresh Pressed Daily Booster with Pure Vitamin C 10%. It’s $39 full price for the set, and the moisturiser alone is $39.50 and the mask is $8 for 15ml, so the set is much better value and works out cheaper than the moisturiser alone. You can purchase this here.
Sephora Collection Sheet Face Mask — Is it even a Sephora haul if you don’t buy one of their face masks!? 😂 I love Sephora’s sheet masks; they are so cheap and they feel absolutely gorgeous too. I love how my skin feels after I’ve used them too. I’ve tried a few of them so far, though I would love to try more.
So far, I have tried the Aloe Vera, Coconut, Honey, Pearl and Rose masks and I’ve loved each and every one of them. They’re only $6 each and if you buy 3, you will get a 4th for free, and you get your VIB/Rouge discount too. You can purchase these masks here.
Brushes, Fragrance, etc.
Sephora Collection Pro Airbrush #55 / #55.5 — This brush is one I have seriously fallen in love with. I got the 55.5 last year when I reached Rouge status, and it’s one that I reach for over every other brush lately. It’s a nice big fluffy brush that has some density, but isn’t too dense. It buffs out foundation beautifully and gives the most flawless finish to my base – even more flawless than my BeautyBlender! 🙊 There aren’t many (or any, even!?) brushes that can do that – especially for me!
The bristles are so soft and not at all scratchy, which I love. Plus, this brush doesn’t leave streaks or brushes marks either. There are two sizes, the regular size #55 and the #55.5 which is a mini/travel size version, and that’s what I have. It’s without a doubt one of the nicest (and best) brushes I’ve used in a long, long time. It’s my first ever brush from Sephora’s own collection to use, but it definitely won’t be my last! You can purchase both of these brushes here.
I haven’t included any photos in this post because it’s already quite long (🙈) and photos would make it even longer. I have linked to various review/posts for items I’ve spoken about before and on those pages you will see photographs and more in-depth detail of those items. I also have a lot of photos over on my Instagram and some mini reviews too, so be sure to check it out.
Thank you for reading, until next time, take care xx
