When Charlotte Tilbury launched this trio last year, just before Christmas, I hymned and hawed over it. I really wanted it, but I also have a lot of highlighters and only one face, so I didn’t think I would get the use out of it and considering it was €55, I decided against getting it. However, I was given it as a gift a while back, and I have totally fallen in love with it.
This is a seriously stunning trio. Everything about it is stunning. The packaging, the formula, the texture, the colours, how they apply. I can’t find any fault with this whatsoever, and if I were to pick anything negative to say about it — it would be the price.

€55 is a lot to pay for any highlighter palette, although I know that Charlotte Tilbury is a luxury brand and you are paying for the name, the brand and the luxuriousness of the product, even though the product itself is of high quality — which I expect it would be, not only because it’s expensive, but because Charlotte Tilbury is a luxury brand and I expect high quality from such brands.
The packaging is gorgeous. A sturdy crimson case which houses the three highlighters inside, each highlighter is embossed with Charlotte’s logo, the words ‘Fine Gold’ and the number ‘999.9’, which I think is a really cool touch, especially given the name ‘Bar of Gold’.
The colours, formula, texture and performance of these highlighters is something else. They are absolutely beautiful, and oh so smooth. They are very like the Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Amrezy Highlighter in formula and texture, but they are even smoother than that is. I haven’t experienced this causing issue with texture on my skin, or emphasising dryness/dry patches.
There are three shades in this trio: Original Bar of Gold (the lightest shade), Rose Gold (the centre shade) and Gold Bullion (the third shade). I love to mix all three shades and apply with my Blank Canvas F15. A light dusting over my cheekbones gives the most gorgeous glow, that looks fabulous when it catches the light. Rose Gold and Gold Bullion make beautiful eyeshadows, too. Each highlighter is 2.5gm, which seems small, but you need so little per application that it’ll last for ages.

I really love this – but it is very expensive. In my opinion, it would make a gorgeous gift, especially if you’re a Charlotte Tilbury fan or you like luxury beauty, I think you’d love this, however, there are other highlighters from various brands that are just as nice, even if they aren’t as smooth as these are.
This is available from Sephora for $58 (USD), CharlotteTilbury.com for €55 and SpaceNK for £49. SpaceNK currently have a promotion for £15 off £60, so if you got this and something else, you could end up getting it a little bit cheaper.
Thank you for reading, until next time, take care xx
