This foundation is one I had seen everywhere and heard a lot about, so earlier this year I picked it up to try out. I shared a mini review of it on my Instagram (here) back last April, and today, I am finally sharing my full thoughts and experience on it with you. I absolutely love a bargain, and when a foundation makes as many claims as this does, I am instantly intrigued. This foundation claims to provide full coverage, up to 24hrs wear with a soft matte finish, it also promises to ‘transform’ your skin. The last claim about skin transformation is a bit of a will one, in my opinion.
Now, because it is a longwearing foundation I was concerned about it being drying on my already dry skin, but thankfully it wasn’t drying. It is actually quite comfortable to wear. My skin didn’t feel tight or uncomfortable either after application or after removal.

It is, without any doubt, full coverage. It’s not mask like, but I can definitely feel it on my skin and it 100% obvious that I am wearing a full coverage foundation. You couldn’t mistake that at all.
It has a flat matte finish in my opinion and experience, but my skin is quite dry, so it could just be that my skin is a little too dry for it and that’s possibly why it looks more matte on me. If you had normal, combination or oily skin it may not look as matte, but I couldn’t say for sure. When I first started using it, it had a semi-matte finish, but over time, it’s become more of a flat-matte finish.

One thing that I really dislike about this foundation is that it oxidises quite badly. On me, it oxidises by about 1 to 1 ½ shades, so for me, it’s definitely a foundation that I need to mix with a moisturiser or wear when I am wearing fake tan. I have the shade ‘010 Ivory’, and realistically, I could have gotten a shade or two lighter, because a lighter shade would match me much better, and even if it was a smidge too light, I could have used bronzer to make it work for me. The oxidisation doesn’t really come across all that well in photos, it is a little worse amd much more noticeable in reality.

It is long wearing, I can get twelve hours wear from it, by about the eleventh hour, it does start to gather between my brows, around my nostrils and settle into my smile lines, but other than that it looks really nice. I do like to use the Tatcha Luminous Dewy Mist with this, to take away the flat-matte appearance and have more glowy appearance, but because of how matte this is on me, I never really get a fully dewy finish, but that’s down to my skin being so dry to begin with, rather than a fault with this foundation.
It’s not transfer proof at all, if I sweat, I can see the ring around the edge of my hairline where it has worn off, if I cry, I can see where my tears have removed it, that happens both when I set it, and when I don’t set it. I do always set it though; I hate my foundations to feel tacky or sticky, I much prefer to set them.

I really like the packaging. I love how the glass bottle looks, and although it’s a decently sized bottle, it’s not too big or heavy that it’s not travel friendly. Normally I am not a fan of glass bottles for travelling, but this is quite light (for a glass bottle) and not too big either. I love that this foundation has a pump. If you know me at all, you’ll know that pumps are my favourite ways to dispense foundation.
The foundation has a lovely cream consistency, that is runny, but still has a very slight thickness to it. It spreads evenly and blends out nicely. I haven’t experiened any issues with this foundation applying unevenly or patchy, it applies really nicely, sets nicely and sets quickly, too. There is a slightly perfumed scent to this foundation. It’s not strong or overpowering and it dissipates pretty quickly after application. It’s not something that has bothered me/my skin, but if you were particularly sensitive, it may be an issue for you.

In the above photo you can see how it has dried down 3-5 mins post-application, and that was a thick swatch, had I used less, it would have been even more dried down and the oxidisation slightly worse.
Overall, I do like this foundation, however I don’t find myself reaching for it as much as I do with some others, that’s mainly because of how much it oxidises on me, but also because of how matte it is. I don’t mind a matte base, it’s not my favourite, but I don’t dislike it, however this is a bit too matte for me, personally. I think if you had combination or oily skin it wouldn’t look near as dry, especially as your own natural oils come through and mix with it throughout the day. I think it is one of those foundations that the more your oils mix with it, the better it might actually look.
Have you tried this foundation? What are your thoughts on it? I’d love to hear from you. 💖
Thank you for reading, and until next time, take care xx
