IT Cosmetics has received huge hype and praise since the brand launched in Ireland in 2018, and the one product that everyone talks about is their cult-favourite CC Cream.
It’s one product that was on my wish list for the longest time, and there were many, many times when I almost caved and bought it without ever having been shade matched or tried a sample. Luckily, I held out and waited until I did get shade matched and got a sample. While everyone raves about this, I’m sat here wondering just what the hype is about? This didn’t work for me at all. Frankly, it looks horrendous, absolutely horrendous on my skin.
I got a sample of the shade Fair, in the original formulation, which is the one that everyone was (and is) raving about. I had such high hopes and honestly thought I was going to love it. Those hopes were short-lived…

In the above photo the product has oxidised quite a lot (I’ve had the sample a while), however I haven’t used this since Xmas(ish) time maybe, so it’s been sat in my drawer. Now I don’t know if the product will oxidise like this in the tube, I’d hope not, but I can’t say for sure as I’ve never had a full size.
When applied first, this looks nice. It’s glowy, but not greasy/shiny/oily and with good coverage, however, after about 2-3 mins it looks dreadfully dry on my skin, and looks like I’ve applied layers of foundation and powder.
In the blow photo, you can see what it is like and how it looks when it has just been applied, and after a few minutes it looks a hell of a lot drier. I swatched this on my arm, however, it looks worse on my face.

Even though I have had the sample a while, the product applies and looks the same now, as it did when I first got it. The only real difference is the colour, it was a lot lighter when I first got it, and it’s about 2-3 shades darker now. It’s coming across quite yellow in photos, however it is much less yellow in reality.
To say I was (am…) disappointed would be an undertatement. I really wanted to love this, and genuinely thought I would. I was sure it would be lovely on my skin, given that my skin is dry, and I love a glowy base, but I think perhaps my skin might be too dry? I’m not sure, but it’s one product I sure wish worked for me.
I see so many people wearing it and raving about it and I am so tempted to try again, but I don’t know if it’s worth trying again given how awful it looks on me. I had thought about trying a different shade as Fair was light, but slightly too pale on me, so perhaps that may be why it looked so awful once it settled into the skin etc?
Have you tried this? Would you like to try it? I’d love to hear from you!
Thank you for reading, until next time, take care xx
