Stick foundations are a type that I steered clear of for years as I always had it in my head that they wouldn’t suit my skin type (dry) and would look awful me. The sheer thoughts of using a stick foundation gave me flashbacks of when I used to use Max Factor’s Pan Stick, and the horrors of it were enough to deter me from using any form of stick-product on my face, until I tried this foundation.
I got this a while ago, but as I had some others on the go, I wanted to use them up before opening a new one, and when I finally did finish some (and declutter some, too), I decided I would open this and try it out, and I am only sorry I didn’t use it sooner because I absolutely love it.

The foundation is weightless, I cannot feel it on my skin at all. It claims to have a ‘natural looking matte finish’, however, it’s definitely not matte on my skin. It has a luminiousity to it. It applies, blends and builds seamlessly, it doesn’t cling to or accentuate dry areas, fine lines, laughter lines or cling around my nose area.
It’s long-lasting, even in this warmer weather and while it does become shinier throughout the day as I sweat, it does not look greasy or oil, it actually looks better as the day goes on. It and it doesn’t separate or break down on my skin either.

This foundation is available in thirty shades and I have two shades, Ivory and Warm Ivory, however Ivory is slightly too light for my skin personally and Warm Ivory is a much better match for my skin tone, when I blend it in fully, I can’t even see it on my skin, the colour is so like my natural skin tone. I can get away with mixing the two together though.
This foundation gives me a light coverage with two swipes per cheek, a little on my forehead, nose and chin, however, it is buildable and it does build really, really nicely. It doesn’t look heavy, cakey, thick or as if I have layers and layers of foundation on. I always like to set my foundation and even when I set this, it doesn’t look heavy, thick or cakey and doesn’t look matte either. I do like to use a setting spray with every foundation and that helps to add a little more glow/dewiness to this foundation.

I love the packaging, particularly the rose gold trims. Being a stick foundation, its lightweight, small and compact so it doesn’t take up much room in your makeup bag. It’s also great for travel as there is no chance of the packaging breaking, or product leaking.
You get 9g / 0.32oz of product, and it retails for €25 / £26 / $25 on AnastasiaBeverlyHills.com. I have seen this foundation in TK Maxx several times, in various shades for around €12, so if it is something you had your eye on, it may be worth holding out until the shops re-open as you may well find it cheaper in your local TK Maxx.
Thank you for reading,
Until next time, take care xx
