The Water Cream moisturiser by Tatcha is beautifully hydrating and moisturising, and it is weightless. It is so light that I can barely feel it on my skin, but yet, it provides immense hydrating, particularly when layered with other products in my routine.
When I first used this, I thought “this is so light, it won’t be enough for my skin”, well, I was wrong. This gave my skin *so* much hydration, especially for something so light. My skin is very dry, so hydration (and moisturisation) is something I need a lot of, and generally I prefer creams that thicker (and richer) as I find the tend to do more for my skin, but this did just as much, in terms of hydration and moisturisation.
It has a gorgeous creamy, texture/consistency. It’s almost a runny cream. It layered well with every other product I used, I didn’t experience any pilling, it never once felt greasy or uncomfortable and I never felt it on my skin, as in, it didn’t give me that feeling that I could just feel it sitting on top of my skin, like you can get with some products.

It felt great under makeup, almost like a moisturising primer. Any foundation or base products I applied over top of this, applied as normal, and performed/wore/blended as normal, I didn’t experience any issues at all. Often when I wore this (mainly during the day) I didn’t bother with a primer because I honestly just didn’t feel that I needed it.
This did enough in term of moisturising and priming my skin, adding a nice subtle glow and as I said, my makeup applied, blended, performed and wore as normal, so I didn’t need to add anything to help my makeup with longevity etc. The only products that I did use that may have helped was setting powder and my Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray, however I use those all the time anyway, regardless of moisturiser, primer etc.
Something to note is that I used this during warm weather, and I generally would gravitate towards lighter products in the warmer months, but this is something I would wear (and I’m sure would work for my skin) even in the winter, once layered with hydrating products. Most (if not all) of my products are hydrating, but in the Winter months I tend up amp up the hydration.
I had a mini size, but it is something I can see myself purchasing the full-size of in future, I’ve finished my mini, and I’m starting to miss it. Tatcha unfortunately isn’t available in Ireland/UK, so it’s something I would need to purchase from the US. There is a 50ml available from Sephora & Tatcha.com for $68 USD, however Sephora do sell a 10ml for $20 USD. This is expensive, but it is worth it, in my opinion.
