This Starlight Gloss Lip Kit was released as part of Bare Minerals Christmas 2018 Collection and by the time I’d decided I wanted it, it was sold out and I’d always regretted not getting it, so you can imagine my delight when I spotted it in TKMaxx for the bargain price of €9.99! This contains three full size lip products, in neutral shades.
Although this set is no longer available from most retailers (I’ve only seen it in TK Maxx), however these particular products and shades are available individually, which is why I am posting this review.

- Gen Nude Buttercream Lipgloss in ‘Heartbreaker’ (Mauve Pink)
- Gen Nude Patent Lip Lacquer in ‘Dahling’ (Pinky Brown)
- Moxie Plumping Lipgloss in ‘Spark Plug’ (Shimmering Light Neutral Brown)
The Gen Nude Buttercream Lipgloss is said to give a creamy & moisturising colour with sheer (but buildable) coverage, and with a non-sticky shine.
The Gen Nude Patent Lip Lacquer offers full-coverage colour with a high shine finish, while keeping lips hydrated and soft.
The Moxie Plumping Lipgloss offers a sheer-to-medium coverage, with a shimmer finish. This formula contains naturally derived peptides, which are supposed to give fullness to the lips for a more voluptuous pout.
I have been using these for around six weeks now, and I really like them, though I have all three of them to be very sticky. They are long-wearing though, and offer great coverage. I find them all to be full coverage/opacity. I wouldn’t describe any of them as medium coverage.

When applied first, I do feel like I have to ‘peel’ my lips apart if I open my mouth or rub my lips together, which I personally don’t find comfortable. I prefer a non-sticky formula as I find it more comfortable. They’re not gloopy and I don’t get those ‘streaks’ of product between my lips when I ‘peel’ then apart.
I will say though, the longer you wear them, the more the stickiness wears off, but it’s a good 40-60 mins before I notice the stickiness starting to lessen.
I do really like these (and I LOVE the colours), but I’m not a big fan of the stickiness (even if it dissipates), so I’m not sure if I would repurchase these. I wouldn’t wear (or recommend wearing) them under a mask, they aren’t the most comfortable as is, and a mask over them would make them even more uncomfortable I think, though I could be wrong.
These are available to purchase from BareMinerals (UK), BareMinerals (USA), Feel Unique, John Lewis and Look Fantastic. Sparkplug is available from StrawberryNET, Overstock, Walmart.
If you have tried these, let me know what you think of them, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Thank you for reading and until next time, take care xx
