NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is one of my favourites, I absolutely love it. It’s very creamy (as the name suggests), it gives great coverage and it looks lovely. When NARS released this, I was intrigued and wanted to try it, I had seen so many great things about it and everyone seemed to love it, regardless of their skin type.
I have dry skin so as much as I wanted to try it, I was apprehensive, because flat matte bases aren’t exactly great for dry skin as they can accentuate any texture and dryness, which we don’t want.

Finally, I caved and bought this. I got it from ASOS a few months ago and have used it a number of times since, and while I like it, I don’t love it. I got the shade ‘Light 2 – Vanilla’ and it’s a pretty good match for me. It’s about ½ a shade too light, but it’s not stark and as I prefer wearing my concealer under my foundation, it doesn’t bother me.
I like it on my face over blemishes or to conceal redness, because it gives good coverage and it conceals them well. I really dislike it under my eyes. It looks dry, heavy, cakey, it sinks into and accentuates each and every line and makes my under-eyes look awful.

I have tried it with various foundations, setting it and not setting it and when I did set it, I used different powders, but I just couldn’t get it look nice or even “alright”, at any time.
This concealer does not have a flat matte finish, there is some radiance to it and it has a healthy look, but the way it makes my under-eye area looks so awful really puts me off. Maybe my skin is just a bit too dry for it, I’m not sure. I’ve seen so many with dry skin use it and it doesn’t look half as matte under their eyes as it does on my skin, so I’m leaning towards my skin being too dry for it.
I can see myself struggling to use it over the next number of months with the colder weather and my skin becoming drier due to the change in temperatures.

It comes in a sturdy, hard plastic and non-flimsy pot, which I don’t mind, I would prefer a doe-foot applicator or tube where I could squeeze it out, but as I’m the only one who uses it, I can get over that. It barely weighs anything, so it’d be great for travel (whenever we get to do that again).
Although the pot is small, you do get a lot of product and because you only need a small amount per application, it will last for ages. It’s pricey at €30 / £24 / $30, but given how long it lasts, it’s worth it, if it works for you and you don’t mind splurging. Overall, it’s not a concealer that I love and it isn’t one I would repurchase again. If you had oily, combo or perhaps even normal skin, this may work better for you, but if your skin is in any way dry, I would avoid it completely.
Thank you for reading, until next time, take care xx
