Lip balms are one product I go through regularly. It is without any doubt my most-used beauty product. I’m always applying balms, my lips are sahara-dry and need all the hydration and moisturisation they can get. My ultimate lip balm is Rêve de Miel by Nuxe. Absolutely nothing compares to it. Nothing. But does that stop me trying out multiple other balms? Does it heck!
I LOVE trying different balms, I get so much joy from finding a new and wonderful balm (and I’ve found some great gems) but I always go back to my beloved Nuxe. When Boots had 20% off and I spotted the Fenty Beauty / Fenty Skin lip balm reduced to around €11 I decided to make good use of my points and order it, and I’m glad I did.
It is slightly thick, but does melt a little when applied to the lips. The warmth of your lips helps to make it less thick and more comfortable on. It has a glossy, non-sticky finish. It’s also long-wearing. I can apply it at 9am and not have to reapply until around midday, which is good going, I think. It’s very moisturising, even when it is fully absorbed after a few hours, my lips feel moisturised, they don’t feel dry, tight or uncomfortable, which is a big plus for me.
It has a sweet vanilla scent, which I’m not a big fan of, but it does dissipate, which is great. It doesn’t go away entirely, but it is a lot less noticeable for sure. This balm comes in an off-white tube with a doe foot applicator. I really like this, I like a doe foot applicator on balms, it’s quick, easy and mess-free.
My *only* complaint is that the product can clog around the top of the top (where the lid screws on) and it can cause a build-up of product, so I have to wipe off the doe foot and then run it around the top and use it that way or else use my fingers and get them all sticky. Either way, I have to constantly remove product from that part of the tube. No biggie, but worth noting.
As I said, I paid around €11 for this, and it was well worth it. It’s €14 at full price, which is slightly high, but for me, it would be worth it. I would prefer different/better packaging, but I can get over it as I can use the balm that clogs around it anyway so it doesn’t go to waste. If you’re in the market for a new balm and don’t mind spending a few bob, this worth checking out. It’s worth reading other reviews too before spending €14 on it mind you.
Have you tried this? What did you think of it? What is your favourite lip balm?
