I have ploughed through so many products over the last while and today I have empties #10 for you. I have so many products to talk about and quite a few empties posts to share and I’m trying my best to space them out as much as I can, whilst not letting too much time pass between finishing the products and publishing these posts. If there are any products you’ve finished up recently, I’d love to hear about them! I love seeing what others have used up and what your thoughts on them are. I find it so helpful!
Today’s post is all perfume and skincare. Lately I have started to use my perfume samples instead of saving them for travelling, like I did previously, because in all honesty I have no idea when I will be travelling again and there’s no point in them sitting in my drawer not being used and going off, I may as well enjoy them while they are still fresh!
Bobbi Brown Extra Repair Moisturizing Balm SPF 25 — This was a lovely moisturiser, it was lightweight and absorbed quickly, but not so much that I couldn’t feel it at all. I didn’t like the scent, it smelled very strongly of essential oils, and it was too strong for me personally. I ended up having to mix it with another moisturiser (that was also scented) just to ease the scent as it didn’t dissipate throughout the day. While I liked it, I wouldn’t purchase a full size of it.
Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream — My holy grail for hydration! I don’t know how many tubs of this I have gone through and I always go back to it. It’s the absolute business for serious hydration without being greasy. It makes a beautiful base for makeup, too. It’s pricey, but a tub lasts for ages. I’ve already repurchased. Highly recommend, especially if you have dry skin. I have in the past tried their Extra Repair Eye Cream (review here), but I wasn’t a fan, the Hydrating Eye Cream is far superior in my opinion.
Cacharel ‘Noa’ — This is a gorgeous perfume, it’s a very light, delicate floral fragrance and it’s one I have been using for years and year, and will continue to use. It is without a doubt one of my absolute favourite perfumes and it’s one that when I wear it, I am complimented on it and often asked what perfume I’m wearing. It’s a perfect daytime, work, college etc perfume and depending on where you buy it, you can often find the 100ml for under €40.
Dior ‘Joy’ EDP (sample) — This is a mildly sweet scent, that I’m not a fan of. I have used samples of this before and didn’t find them sweet, however these ones were sweet. I’m not a fan of sweet scents, so I wouldn’t purchase a larger size of this.
Dior ‘Miss Dior’ EDP (sample) — I wasn’t a fan of this, it was mildly sweet and (thankfully) the scent wasn’t particularly strong or noticeable. I did get wafts of it throughout the day, but it was only mild. This wasn’t a long-lasting scent by any means. I wouldn’t purchase a larger size of this.
Dr. Eve Ryouth 24K Gold + Antioxidant Hydrating Eye Treatments Pads — These were terrible. They are thick and heavy for under-eye patches and because of that they didn’t stay in place. Unless I held them in place, they would slide down my face. They mind me of fried egg whites, you know how they are slippy and can slide around the plate? That’s basically what these are like, only on your face. I also didn’t find them hydrating. They’re expensive, £35 for five pairs, personally I would prefer the Skin Republic Under-Eye patches to these, they are also a lot more affordable.
Evian Thermal Spring Water Spray — This is a basic but very effective water spray. I’ve had this for ages and it always worked well for me. I can’t remember exactly how much this was, but I don’t think it was expensive. Would definitely repurchase.
Giorgio Armani ‘Sì’ EDP (sample) — I had a few samples so used them up, but it’s not one I would recommend or purchase a larger size of. The scent is strong and quite sweet, and as the day goes on it gets sweeter and stronger, which I disliked. Sweet scents really aren’t my thing, I prefer fresher, more citrusy scents as I feel they suit me better, this one was just too sweet for me personally. Although this scent isn’t for me, it was long-lasting, for a few days after wearing it, I could still smell it on my scarf, it wasn’t as strong but the scent was still there.
GlamGlow Tropical Cleanse (sample) — I wasn’t a fan of this. It was a gel-crème formula with scrubby beads in it and was too creamy to be an effective physical scrub for me personally. It was grand as a cleanser but nothing special. I wouldn’t repurchase this.
Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Intensive Eye Contour Cream — This was a lovely eye cream and one I thoroughly enjoyed using. I only had a mini, but I liked it enough that I would consider purchasing a full size in future. It’s very gentle and worked great with my Bobbi Brown Hydrating eye cream. This on its own wouldn’t be enough for me, but layered with the Bobbi cream, the two together are wonderful. I can’t speak for it working on fine lines, wrinkles etc. as I didn’t use it for long enough.
The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG — I love this, I can’t be without it! It is AMAZING for under-eye darkness. If you are predisposed to darkness this may not work for you. If your darkness is caused by lack of sleep etc. this might be worth a try. It’s around €6 in Boots! I have already repurchased!
That rounds up Empties #10. I hope you enjoyed reading. You can see my previous empties posts by clicking here. Thanks for reading, until next time, take care xx
