Hey guys, I’m back with Empties #11 today. I have quite a few empties posts to publish and I’m trying to find a balance of posting each one close to when I finished the products mentioned in each post, but also leaving enough time between each empties so you don’t get bombarded with them. I hope you enjoy reading and if there are any of the products you have tried, let me know your thoughts on them, I would love to hear from you!
Catrice It’s Easy Tattoo Eyeliner — One of my favourite budget eyeliners. This is a fabulous eyeliner! It’s so easy to use and it’s great for beginners. It’s very black, has a nice sized tip, it’s very pigmented and it lasts really well. It doesn’t flake, smudge, bleed etc throughout the day and I’ve worn it for up to 12 hours on some days. It’s about €4 so really affordable and well worth picking up if you love a black liner without a high price tag! This was part of Catrice 2019 Spring/Summer collection, which I reviewed here.
Creightons Pure Touch Hand Gel — This was an okay hand gel. It had a runny consistency and was quite light and took a few minutes to absorb, however it didn’t absorb fully and my hands felt sticky as a result. It was drying, but most hand sanitisers are. I wasn’t a fan of this one and wouldn’t repurchase.
Histoires de Parfums 1899 Hemingway (sample) — This is a unisex fragrance that is described an ‘oriental spicy fragrance’, now I personally found this to smell strongly of Lynx or something similar. It’s a very strong scent and it only gets stronger as the day goes on, it’s quite a long-wearing scent, too. I didn’t like this at all and it’s definitely not something I would even consider purchasing a larger size of. It’s quite expensive too, €38 for15ml, €105 for 60ml and €165 for 105ml, there are other scents I much prefer and would rather spend that kind of money on, tbh.
Kenzo World EDT (sample) — this is another one that was sickly sweet and strong, and got stronger and sweeter throughout the day, again, this isn’t for me. It was a little stronger than Sì, but not by much. Just like Sì, this was a long-lasting scent, not as long-lasting mind you. I wouldn’t purchase a larger size of this.
L’Oréal Fine Flowers Gentle Cleansing Wash — This is a lovely, gentle wash, that leaves my face clean but without stripping it. I’ve gone through a few of these previously and will repurchase again. I t’s cheap and effective. What’s not to love?!
La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL SPF 50+ — This is a gorgeous lightweight SPF, that is not sticky, greasy and feels really nice on, it feels just like a lightweight moisturiser. I only had a sample but I liked it enough that I would buy a full size in future.
Lancôme Hydra Intense Hydrating Mask — This is a gorgeous, deeply hydrating face mask. It’s a gel formula with a thick consistency, but it’s not sticky or tacky and it applies nicely and absorbs quickly. It layers well with other products and doesn’t pill, plus it has a gorgeous scent .
Marc Jacobs Magic Marc’er Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner — This is a meh eyeliner for me. I really didn’t find it to be a whole lot better than some of my more affordable ones. It’s not waterproof, water wipes can remove this. It’s not as black as I would like it to be, I find I have to build it up to get any sort of intensity and it fades throughout the day. This was my second one and I had the same experience with the first one I used. It’s fairly expensive for something so meh, so I wouldn’t recommend it.
Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara — My HG mascara. This gives me everything I want from a mascara and more! Definition, length, separation, volume, intense blackness, no flaking or smudging, long-wearing etc. Highly recommend. Will absolutely repurchase in future!
OGX Argan Oil Shampoo — This is my favourite shampoo at the moment. It thoroughly cleans my hair, but without stripping it or leaving it dry. My hair is so soft when I use this, and any knots come out easily. I have a sensitive scalp that is easily irritated, but this thankfully doesn’t cause any irritation! It’s cheap and regularly on offer too. If you’re in the market for a new shampoo, I highly recommend this.
Ole Henriksen Truth Gel Cleanser — This is an okay cleanser. It left my face clean and without stripping it, but it didn’t impress me overall, so I wouldn’t repurchase it. It essentially does the same as the Superdrug & L’Oréal face washes, but at a higher price, and for me, it isn’t worth that price. I tried the serum from this range and it didn’t impress me either. They didn’t do a much for my skin so I wouldn’t repurchase or recommend either of them.
Oskia London Renaissance Mask — A painful empty! This is a holy grail mask for me, and a staple. It’s just beautiful and I love how my skin looks after I use this. It gives an instant glow to my skin and is perfect to use before an event. I have a few mini sizes to use up and once they’re finished, I’ll repurchase it.
Oskia Micro Exfoliating Balm — This is a lovely gentle physical exfoliator. It’s not at all abrasive and it leaves my skin feeling (and looking) lovely after I use it. I wouldn’t repurchase only because I prefer a liquid exfoliator these days, but if I got it in a GWP, I’d use it.
Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel — One of my favourite ever cleansers. This is so beautiful and luxurious to use. My skin never feels stripped, tight, or uncomfortable after using this. It’s has a thick consistency which melts to an oil when massaged into the skin and when mixed with water, it emulsifies to a milk and rinses off easily. My skin feels soft and clean after using this. It’s very gentle, probably one of the gentlest cleansers I’ve ever used. It’s great for breaking down makeup too, though because it is so expensive, I never ever use it for that purpose. Sometimes I like to leave it sit on my skin for 5-10mins as a flash mask.
SoSu Dripping Gold Wonder Water Light-Medium — One of my favourite face tanners. This is my second or third one and I will absolutely be repurchasing it! It’s just gorgeous and I love that the mister gives a nice, fine mist and doesn’t drown my face or leave splotches anywhere. Really inexpensive, comes in three shades and also different scents. Highly recommend!
