Hey guys,
Happy New Year. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and festive season and enjoyed your new years celebrations (safely of course). Hard to believe we are into another new year, I always say it, but each year seeems to pass by more quickly than the year before. With any luck 2022 will be a better year for us all, and hopefully one where we start to see the end of the pandemic. It’s crazy that we are now into our third year of it. Hopefully it will be the start of our last year, if not our last year with it.
I can’t believe I’m already writing my 12th empties post and I hope you don’t mind that I’m publishing another one so soon after my previous empties posts.
In this empties there is a mixture of everything really. I’ve finished up quite a few makeup items, which I am delighted with. It’s a goal of mine this year to really work on finishing up some primers, foundations and face powders and I’m close to finishing a few more!
I thought I would struggle with finishing up primers, foundations and powders, but I’m ploughing through them. There are a few foundations and primers that I would like to try towards the end of the end of the year, but I knew I needed (and wanted) to really cut down on what I have currently. I hope you enjoy reading this empties post and if there are any products you’ve finished up recently, I’d love to hear about them!
Bondi Sands Liquid Gold Self Tan Oil — I got this tan about a year ago simply because I wanted a natural looking tan and thought that this would be the one for me, especially as I have dry skin and this is an oil. This did nothing for me. It didn’t even show up on my skin. It has an artificial coconut scent which I didn’t like. The spray nozzle was messy and the tan sprayed everywhere. It’s not expensive but I wouldn’t recommend it.
Catrice HD Active Primer (discontinued) — This was a gorgeous primer and it reminded me a lot of the Veil Mineral primer by Hourglass. I loved this and I loved that it has SPF30 in it, and although I always wear a separate SPF50, it was nice to have an added SPF in this. I spoke about this here and here.
Catrice Light Correcting Serum Primer Candlelight (discontinued)— This was a beautiful primer. It gave a lit from within glow and looked so natural. I loved using it on its own, under foundation and also mixed I with foundation. It was so beautiful.
Catrice Prime & Fine Makeup Transformer Drops (discontinued) — I loved these, they were so handy for lightening up darker foundations and without changing the consistency of the foundation they were mixed with. Being Catrice, they were affordable too.
Dr Palm Hand Sanitiser — This was a nice hand sanitiser, but it was slighty drying. My hands didn’t feel sticky or greasy when I used it and it absorbed quickly. It has 75% alcohol and you can definitely smell the alcohol from it, but other than that it was good. I’ve gone through a few of these ones and I’ve already repurchased this.
L’Oréal Pure Clay Detox Charcoal Face Mask — This is a fabulous and also very affordable charcoal mask. It’s a great spot treatment, too. I love the Supermud by GlamGlow, but this makes a great alternative to it and at a fraction of the price. It’s not a dupe by any means, but merely an alternative.
Tata Harper Resurfacing Face Mask (sample) — This is one of the best exfoliating masks I have used! It really works. It reminds me a lot of Oskia’s Renaissance Mask (which I love). This didn’t irritate my skin or cause any issues. It was quite gentle. Expensive, but worth it. Highly recommend.
The Inkey List Lactic Acid — This is just like Sunday Riley’s Lactic Acid — ineffective! This didn’t do anything for my skin, and in the end I struggled to use it up, and used it just because I had it! It’s cheap, but did nothing for my skin. Wouldn’t repurchase or recommend!
Superdrug Calm Skin Facial Cleansing Wash (discontinued) — My favourite face wash! This is a fabulous facial wash. It’s gentle, calming, soothing and leaves my skin feeling clean and soft. It’s honestly the best facial wash I have ever used! I absolutely adored this!
