Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Royal Glow is the latest release from Becca Cosmetics.
May 19th 2018 was possibly one of the most anticipated days of the year and for good reason too. It was the day that Prince Harry and Suits star Meghan Markle tied the knot in what I can only describe as a fairy tale.
The whole affair was magical, I was glued to the TV and social media. Meghan looked incredible I thought. Her hair and make-up was soft and subtle and absolutely beautiful, she looked flawless.

To celebrate the Royal Wedding Becca cosmetics released a limited edition shade of their award-winning Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in a shade aptly titled Royal Glow, which is described by Becca as a ‘dazzling bronzed opal infused with shimmering gold pearl’.

I wouldn’t describe it as a ‘bronzed opal’, to my eye it’s more of a peachy-gold than bronze-gold. It is beautiful. It’s a little darker than ABH X Amrezy highlighter.

Just like Parisian Lights, also by Becca, this has a creamy, smooth and buttery texture that melts into the skin without looking over the top or glittery. It also comes in a silver mirrored compact that is lightweight and small.
Royal Glow is more pigmented than Parisian Lights.

Just like Parisian Lights, this also has a beautiful embossing, naturally Royal Glow has the embossing of a Royal Crown.

In the pan it looks a lot darker and more of a bronze-gold than a peachy-gold, when swatched or applied with a fan brush the colour is a lot lighter. When I first opened the compact and saw the colour I thought it was going to be too dark for me and very nearly sent it back.
This makes a fabulous eye-shadow too. I love it applied over Bobbi Brown’s long wear shadow stick in Sand Dune.
I apply Sand Dune first and then blend it out, then I take a fluffy brush (Blank Canvas E26 or similar) and lightly dust a little of Royal Glow over Sand Dune and it looks beautiful. It’s simple, elegant and it looks great too.
I ordered mine from Cult Beauty where is cost £30. It’s also available in John Lewis and Space NK. In the US it is available from Becca Cosmetics and Beautylish.
