Back in 2015 when US beauty YouTuber Jaclyn Hill announced she had collaborated with beauty brand Becca to create a highlighter, the beauty industry went crazy with everyone trying to get their hands on it.
It sold out almost instantly and fans were eagerly awaiting a restock so they could get their hands on what was, at the time, one of, if not the most-wanted highlighter.
There was a collection which included the infamous Champagne Pop, a face palette and another highlighter called Prosecco Pop.
At the time I didn’t use highlighter so had no interest in getting it, however since then I have developed a love for highlighter and just before Christmas Sephora had their crème highlighters reduced to $19. It was part of their weekly beauty deals in the run up to Christmas. As soon as I saw the deal I ordered Champagne Pop.
I eagerly awaited its arrival, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it and see what all the hype was about. Packaging wise, it comes in a slim, lightweight compact, as all Becca highlighters do. I quite like Becca’s packaging.
It was the first product by Becca that I’d tried and given all the hype surrounding this at the time of it’s initial release, I was expecting great things and I wasn’t disappointed.
Because of my dry skin I think crème products work and look well on me, this product was no different to any other crème products I had tried.

It’s so smooth and creamy, more than I was expecting it to be. It’s a stunning warm golden colour that suits my complexion beautifully. Sephora describe this as a “a soft gold with pinky-peach pearl.”, I agree with the peach part, but not pink. I can’t see any pink to this at all personally.

This doesn’t lift or move my foundation when applied, it just meshes into my skin.
Bobbi Brown’s All Over Glow and Champagne Pop crème have similar finishes. All Over Glow is just a bit more glossy and wet looking than Champagne Pop.

I prefer to apply this with my fingers and use my beauty blender to blend it out. It doesn’t apply well with a fan brush because it is a crème and not powder.
Have you tried Champagne Pop? What did you think of it? I’d love to know.
Thank you for reading, until next time, take care xx
