It’s week seven of my Affordable Beauty Series and this week it’s all about highlighter.
There are very few highlighters from the drugstore (or in Ireland, pharmacy brands) that I like. A lot of them that I have seen seem to have chunky glitter particles in them or are overly shimmery, which is something I really dislike.
The very first highlighter I loved is actually part of the L’Oréal Glam Bronze Duo in Blonde Harmony. It’s a gorgeous creamy colour that has a beautiful sheen but isn’t glittery or overly shimmery at all. It gives a very soft sheen to my skin and isn’t at all blinding, which I really like.

It is particularly gorgeous on the brow bone and inner corner for giving a subtle highlight. This one I wish L’Oréal would bring out on its own as a solo-product.
The Wet n Wild MegaGlow Highlighters are B.O.M.B. These are, in my opinion, the very best drugstore/affordable highlighters that money can buy! They are fabulous! I have two shades, Crown of my Canopy and Precious Petals.

They are absolutely beautiful. They have a soft, creamy formula that just glides across my skin and melts in giving a beautiful glow that catches the light and shines beautifully.

Crown of My Canopy is a beautiful dark gold / light bronze shade and Precious Petals is a gorgeous champagne colour. They both highlight perfectly without being over the top.
Crown of My Canopy I tend to use (sparingly!) as a blush and blush topper as well as a highlighter.
I apply my blush first then take a nice big fluffy brush and very lightly dab it into COMC and apply it over my blush then use my beauty blender to really mesh it into my skin.
I love everything about them. The colours, pigmentation, quality, embossing and most of all the price, they are only wait for it…. €5.25.
A third shade, titled Blossom Time, will be released soon and you can be sure I will be getting it. I have seen some photos of it and it looks beautiful. I cannot wait to get my hands on it, that’s for sure.
The final two highlighters are by Maybelline. They are the Facestudio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighters.

These are beautiful, they are very much a blinding highlight, there is no subtlety with these at all.

Molten Pink is a champagne pink colour and when applied to my skin there isn’t much pink to it. In the pan it looks much more pink than it does on my skin.
Molten Gold is as the name suggests, a gold colour. I would describe is a yellow gold. It makes a gorgeous eyeshadow as well as highlighter.

All of these highlighters have beautiful creamy formulas that are lovely to work with and glide on effortlessly. They just melt into my skin and look beautiful. They are all long lasting with excellent pigmentation and none are chunky or glittery in any way.
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed this post and find it helpful, until next time, take care xx 😊
